Exercise: Fitting the frame to the subject

For this exercise, i had to take series of photographs of a single subject, each time taking up a different amount of space within the frame.
The first picture i took was a natural picture. I simply aimed and shot as i would normally, without putting too much thought into the photograph.

I then took a photograph of the subject filling up the entire frame. i shot face fronting from the ground so the height of the frot of the shoe would fill the frame.



The next photograph had to be a zoom of just part of the subject but still filling the entire frame with the subject. I chose to zoom in on part of one the cat faces. I used a shallow depth of field so only the cat was in focus. Drawing more attention to that part of the subject in the bottom corner of the frame.

The final photograph i took was from far away, with the subject filling only a small part of the frame.

I then made a series of crops from those photographs. I tried moving the subject around the frame. Using vertical/horizontal frames and different zooms at different angles of the cat faces. Here are the results:
